About Back Massage

How many times have you heard your mother complain about an ache in her shoulders or your Grandfather gripe about the tightness in his back? How often have you woken up with a stiff neck? It happens to everybody and it seems a natural part of life. But it doesn’t have to be. Massage is not a cure-all, but for those of you who just have a few aches and pains every once in a while, back massage can bring relief. The definition of massage is kneading and rubbing parts of the body to increase circulation and promote relaxation. There are many different kinds of massage but I focus mainly on Swedish Massage.
During the Swedish massage, I use massage oils to facilitate smooth, gliding strokes called effleurage, which means "to skim" or "to touch lightly".  The aim of effleurage is to increase lympth flow and warm up the tissues.  Other classic Swedish massage moves include kneading, compression, and petrissage.  Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits.  Massage can quickly alleviate pain and stress from your back.

You may wonder what back pain is. Back pain can be tight muscles, inflammation, or pinched nerves. It can be caused by bad posture, a sedentary lifestyle, or stress. Massage has been shown to improve range of motion, enhance immunity, improve circulation, and help rest and relaxation. It also helps the body clean out toxins.

I use a lot of the techniques I learned from the Raindrop Technique along with a few others to relax your muscles and your mind using a V-6 oil from Young Living that is a mix of Coconut oil, Sesame oil, Grape Seed oil, Sweet Almond oil, Wheat Germ oil, Sunflower oil, and Olive oil that leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft.

I have given over 20 massages over the past year to my family and friends. Now I offer a basic massage to you that lasts around 30-45 min. for $20. You can also give gift certificates for this massage to your family and friends for the holidays as well. I can print gift certificates for you to give to the recipient of your gift if you would like. If you decide to give the Raindrop Technique as a gift, the recipient must be in the vicinity of Fort Collins, CO.  (Please note: I would rather have only female clients. If you would like to give this gift to a man in your life please let me know who and I can decide if I can do the Raindrop on him. Thanks for this consideration.) This is the perfect gift for all your family and friends that already have everything, including back pain.

Preparing for a Back Massage

To recieve your back massage, you will come to my house near Fort Collins, CO. I have a massage table set up in a large bedroom where I will also put on some soft piano music.

Here are the things I will ask you to do before you get on the massage table.
  • Take off your jewelry.  (Rings & earrings are ok to leave on.)
  • Take off your eye glasses if you have them.
  • Take off all your upper body clothes.  (You will always be laying face down on the massage table.)
  • Relax and enjoy your massage.
To get the most health benefits from your massage, drink lots of water before your massage and after your massage.

Whole Health Massage Testimonials

Thank you for the massage. It was great. Your massage was just what I needed to help me relax and sleep after working so hard to get ready for Christmas. I slept so good for about five nights, without waking during the night. It sure was great. If you lived closer I’d be coming to see you often for a massage.

-Grandma Lola Ozman, Denver, CO

Rachelle, since I had your special massage at the end of December 2007, I have experienced what I believe is a strengthening of my sphinctor muscle. This means that I no longer had to get up 3 times every night, and urgency during the day was not nearly as serious as it has been for some weeks. Now, the time is ten days later and I wish so much I could experience another of your massages. It would appear that the affects have pretty well worn off by now. What I think would happen if my body could experience continued massages, is that this muscle would continually become stronger and the time between the massages would be continuously lengthened. God bless you, my dear granddaughter Rachelle, for your gift of healing. May He confirm this gift and give you greater and greater gifts in this area.
